Israel is not solely responsible for the erosion and weakening of democracy in the
Palestinian scene. Palestinian political actors exploit the internal division to seize
control, dominate, and monopolize governance, concentrating power in the hands of
the elite.
The Palestinian people have always been ahead of their leadership in their ability
to capture the historical moment and the imperatives of confronting the occupation.
