Dr. Hasan Abu-Libdeh is a Palestinian politician, economist, and statistician. He holds a Ph.D. in Biostatistics from Cornell University, along with master’s degrees from Stanford and Cornell. Abu-Libdeh founded and led the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics for13 years and served as Minister of National Economy, Minister of Labor, and Minister of Social Affairs. He played an active role in the bilateral and multilateral negotiations and the Oslo peace process. A strong advocate for economic disengagement from Israeli settlements, he founded the National Integrity Fund to advance this goal. He currently serves as CEO of Sunergy for Renewable Energy Solutions.
Any serious strategy for the future must recognize that both sides are here to stay and
that the only way to end the conflict is through a political agreement that leads to a
viable Palestinian state living in peace alongside the State of Israel
