Fawaz Turki

Fawaz Turki (b. 1940): Born in Haifa, in the Nakba of 1948 he was expelled with his family and spent his childhood in the refugee camps of Beirut. As a young man living in Paris, he met his American wife and moved with her to the United States. As a Palestinian living in exile, he published several books in English. Turki is currently, a writer-in-residence at the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, a professor at the State University of New York in Buffalo, and a frequent speaker at conferences and panels dealing with the Middle East.
