Latif Dori is a longtime political activist. He was General Secretary of the Committee for Israeli-Palestinian Dialogue founded by Mizrachi Jews, the leader of the 1986 Israeli delegation to the encounter with a PLO delegation in Bucharest in protest of the law to ban encounters with the PLO, and was awarded the Bruno Kreisky Prize for Human Rights in 1988 together with Benazir Bhutto. He is an Honorary Citizen of Kafr Qassem.
