Prof. Dr. Martin Leiner is the director of the Jena Center for Reconciliation Studies and chair in Systematic Theology/Ethics at the Faculty of Theology at Friedrich- Schiller-Universität Jena, Germany.
Reconciliation is a promising alternative to so-called intractable conflicts such as the
Israeli-Palestinian situation, where conflict resolution through peace agreements has
failed because of the opposition of large segments of society
