Gil Z. Hochberg is associate professor of Comparative Literature at UCLA and author of In Spite of Partition: Jews, Arabs and the Limits of Separatist Imagination (Princeton University Press, 2007). She is currently completing a book about the visualization of the occupation entitled Checkpoint Syndrome: Notes on Power, Culture and the Spectacle of Violence.
